This next edition of the Spring Tour Dressage is once again bursting with top class horses and riders. From 28 February until 10 March the Domaine will be welcoming more than 150 riders each week, and over 350 horses.
In just a few years this three star international competition has become the rendez vous of the beginning of the show season thanks to the mild Riviera climate and the excellent infrastructures of the Domaine Equestre des Grands Pins.
The British Olympic gold medalist Carl Hester is coming back to Vidauban with three of his horses, Fine Time 13, Nip Tuck and Dancers with Wolves for his first international outing this season.
Another big name is the young Valentina Truppa, currently top of the World Cup ranking list with 67 points, who will be accompanied by Chablis, her Grand Prix horse.
From Austria, Timna Zach will be presenting two horses from the Glock stables (who also sponsor Edward Gal): Glock’s Federleight and Glock’s Womanizer. Fellow Austrian, Karin Kozak, at present 17th in the World Cup ranking list, will be riding Lucy’s Day.
The Spring Tour will also be welcoming a healthy Spanish contingent headed by Morgan Barbaçon Mestre who is trained by Anky van Grunsven. She may also get useful tips from the highly experienced Beatriz Ferrer-Salat who is coming to the Var with three horses: Sir Radjah, Delgado and Edgar Wallace.
Amongst the French riders is part of the A team with Arnaud Serre who will be presenting the stallion Ungaro de Massa for one of the first times on the International Young Horse circuit. He will also be riding Robinson de Lafont in the 8/10 year old classes. Anne-Sophie Serre has entered Loutano and Rossini in the Big Tour, hoping to echo her success of the Fall Tour last November. Fresh from the Amsterdam stage of the World Cup, Catherine Henriquet and Paradies Sauber will be back in France and competing in the Spring Tour. We are also looking forward to watching Alizée Froment, with her key horses Mistral and Naxos du Coussoul, on the international circuit Big Tour.
Rendez vous from 28 February for two weeks of high level dressage competition at the Domaine Equestre des Grands Pins.
